Brace Care and Washing Instructions
Comfort Plus, Pain Relief Back Brace & Dynamic Corrective Brace (DCB)
All of our SpineCor braces are fully washable, and we advise separating the Thoracic/ Bolero section from the Pelvic components when washing.
Please make sure all Velcro fastenings are closed, and where possible, the ends of the corrective bands should be turned in on themselves and attached back onto the bands to prevent these from becoming tangled during washing. Please leave the corrective bands attached to the Bolero during every wash.
With the DCB (Dynamic Corrective Brace), please leave the thigh bands/ groin straps fastened to the pelvic base. Never undo the lacing in the back of the pelvic base.
Place the thoracic and pelvic components into separate wash bags/ pillowcases during washing. This will stop them from becoming tangled. These can be hand or machine washed on a delicate cycle, with a maximum temperature of 40°C.
We recommend washing the thoracic component once per week, and the shorts can be washed as underwear and rotated daily.
Please regularly check the numbers are attached to the corrective bands and the pelvic base/ shorts. If they have detached and you are unsure of their positioning, you should contact your brace provider for help with this. The fastening guidelines on your brace may fade, but will not wash out completely. You can trace over the markings to make them more visible if necessary.
Do not bleach any part of the brace or use fabric conditioner.
These products will affect the elasticity of your corrective bands.
When drying your brace, we recommend air drying your brace naturally, without exposing it to direct heat. Please make sure that the corrective bands and the thigh bands are laid flat when drying. You can tumble dry your brace but always make sure to use a low heat setting and never for a long period of time. Do not place any of the brace components on a radiator or directly in front of a heater.
Please note that every piece of your brace has an identification tag that should not be removed as these may need to be referred to for quality control purposes, or for the supply of replacement components.
